Lauren and I went to San Diego, California this past weekend to celebrate her 30th birthday. The dates just happened to fall on my 30th birthday as well, but we were really there to celebrate her with a fun filled weekend. We stayed on the harbor near the U.S.S. Midway. We learned all the different neighborhoods in San Diego are incredibly spread out so we primarily used Uber to get to around. On my birthday we decided to rent a cheap car from the airport, only the rental place wasn't at the airport and it ended up being fairly sketchy. Even though the little Nissan Versa we rented was complete trash we were still able to venture out a little farther than we would without an expensive Uber ride, allowing us to visit Coronado Beach (our favorite), La Jolla and hike Torrey Pines.
We also loved Balboa Park and the San Diego Zoo. When people say the San Diego Zoo is the best there is a reason for it! Being ten feet away from a panda just chowing down on some bamboo is an awesome experience.
Overall the weather was beautiful (too cold to swim though), the scenery was amazing and the people were incredibly nice. It's becoming pretty obvious I really love California.
